PESHAWAR:

A meeting of the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) Cabinet has been summoned for today (Tuesday) to discuss the removal of Ajmal Wazir as the adviser to the chief minister on information and publication relations, besides other agenda items.

To be chaired by K-P Chief Minister Mahmood Khan, the meeting will probe his removal.

Wazir had been removed from his post last week over allegations that he took bribes from advertising agencies. He was swiftly replaced by the Special Assistant to Chief Minister on Local Government Kamran Bangash. Wazir, the former spokesperson of the provincial government, had termed the leaked audio clip as heavily edited in which he can be purportedly heard accepting kickbacks from representatives of an advertising company.

He had said that a conspiracy had been hatched to oust him from the provincial government. The provincial cabinet meeting will also give formal approval of multiple bills.
