Baloch students slam HEC policies
Baloch Students Organization (BSO) Sunday demonstrated outside the Quetta Press Club and slammed what it called the “anti-student policies” of the Higher Education Commission. The protesters, including workers from Hazara Students Federation, also chanted slogans against the federal and provincial governments. Addressing the rally, Central Chairman of BSO Munir Jalib said instead of implementing precautionary measures to ensure people’s safety during the coronavirus epidemic, political turmoil ensued and people were intimidated, with all educational institutions closed and classes moved online without the availability of proper facilities. He said that load-shedding was rampant for more than 10 hours daily in Quetta while internet facility was not available in various districts of the province. “How can students take online classes in this scenario?” he asked. “The training has been announced and our great teacher Shaheed Prof. Nadir Mashwani has lost his life due to coronavirus.
