ISLAMABAD:

Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Capital Development Authority (CDA) Affairs Ali Nawaz Awan on Friday said that the ruling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government is trying to overcome the shortage of water in the federal capital apart from beautifying the city and making it a vibrant smart city. Speaking to the media, he explained that the Ghazi-Barotha Water project is a historic development for Islamabad, adding that it is the only viable solution to meet the water requirements for the residents of Rawalpindi and Islamabad going forwards. He added that they have been pursuing this project seriously to meet the demands of the residents on an urgent basis. He also discussed the construction of high-rise buildings in the federal capital and stressed that it was the need of the hour to build such structures given the rapid increase in the city’s population.
