Renowned magician Iqbal Hussain passes away

Iqbal’s magic tricks earned widespread praise and he was an expert in street magic cards tricks

Renowned Pakistani magician Iqbal Hussain,who entertained his fans for decades, passed away on Thursday after suffering a fatal cardiac arrest.

He was the president of Magician of Pakistan and also worked in the Pakistan Television Network (PTV) entertainment shows.

Iqbal’s magic tricks earned widespread praise from across the country and he was an expert in street magic cards tricks.

He had the honour of performing in leading hotels of the country as well as in private events and in school functions.

Iqbal had been performing his art since 80's and performed on PTV from 1990 to 1998.

He was a senior member of the International Brothers of Magician America, United Magician of Pakistan, and had showcased his talents abroad including in China, India and Hong Kong.

Iqbal was born in Peshawar and lived in Landi Arbab, a village near Peshawar with his wife and four sons.

According to his family, the renowned magician was rushed to a nearby hospital Wednesday night after he complained of chest pain where he breathed his last.

Asif, son of Iqbal Hussain, while speaking to The Express Tribune, lamented that his father was teaching witchcraft on his own but never received any appreciation or any financial support from the government,

My father devoted his entire life to art of magic and taught his unqiue tricks and skills to his elder brother, he added.
