Prompt eradication of locusts urged

Mechanism needed for timely reporting and eradication of locust attacks

BAHAWALPUR:

A mechanism should be devised for timely reporting and eradication of locust attacks, and all available resources should be brought into operation in this regard, Bahawalpur Division Commissioner Asif Iqbal Chaudhry has said.

He was presiding over a meeting on Wednesday. The meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioner Bahawalpur Muzaffar Khan Sial, Managing Director Cholistan Development Authority Rana Saleem Khan and officers of the departments concerned.

DC Bahawalnagar Shoaib Jadoon and DC Rahim Yar Khan Ali Shahzad joined the meeting through video link. The commissioner said a system should be evolved through which information about locusts entering the division could be spread effectively and timely.
