Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi, on the occasion of Kashmir Martyrs' Day, said no occupying force can subjugate the spirit of the brave people of Indian-Occupied Kashmir (IOK).
FM Qureshi paid tribute to the 22 people of the besieged valley who lost their lives in 1931 in the struggle for the right of self-determination.
“I pay tribute to 22 sons of J&K whose courage in face of brutal Dogra forces re-galvanized a decades-old struggle for self-determination in 1931,” the foreign minister tweeted. “[Which is] an inalienable right Kashmiris continue to die for to this day.”

Earlier today, Prime Minister Imran Khan also expressed support for the Kashmiri people and their continued struggle.
"Today, on Yaum-e-Shuhada-e-Kashmir, we salute Kashmiris for their continued struggle against the illegal and barbaric Indian occupation of Jammu & Kashmir. The Shuhada of 13 July 1931 were the forefathers of today's Kashmiri resistance," the premier said in a tweet.
He paid tribute to generations of Kashmiris who laid down their lives fighting for freedom from occupational forces.

On July 12, Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) President Sardar Masood Khan vowed to carry forward the mission of Kashmiri martyrs who offered supreme sacrifice of their life on July 13, 89 years ago, in Srinagar to get rid of the most oppressive Dogra rule.
“Today, we are marking the Kashmir Martyrs’ Day in the most tragic circumstances. The occupation authorities have cancelled the commemoration of this day in Srinagar and the entire occupied territory. We strongly condemn this decision by New Delhi to muzzle the voices of Kashmiris,” he said in a message on the occasion of Kashmir Martyrs Day.
The AJK president vehemently condemned the arrest of senior Hurriyat leader and Chairman of Tehreek Hurriyat Jammu and Kashmir Mohammad Ashraf Sehrai under the draconian Public Safety Act (PSA) in Srinagar.
