Two 'target killers' arrested

Accused of murdering PSP worker

KARACHI:

Two alleged target killers said to be involved in the murder of a Pak Sarzameen Party worker were arrested by the Rangers on Saturday.

The suspects, namely Syed Naeem Haider alias Bara and Muhammad Danish Iqbal alias Hakla, had allegedly murdered Asim Muhammad Khan in Liaquatabad on Thursday. A case nominating unknown suspects was earlier registered at Sharifabad police station.

Haider and Danish, who belong to a banned outfit, were arrested while their accomplice managed to escape.

The law enforcers seized a pistol used in the murder from the possession of the arrested men, with a forensic report matching the bullet shells collected from the crime scene to the weapon.

Haider has reportedly confessed to his involvement in a number of sectarian target killings during preliminary interrogation.
