Business woes: Call to help SMEs recoup losses

UNISAME president emphasises that the limping SME sector needed support

The Union of Small and Medium Enterprises (UNISAME) has urged Prime Minister Imran Khan to make extraordinary efforts for the SME sector due to the setback caused by the pandemic and has asked him to direct ministries to take steps to help the sector not only to recover but also become globally competitive. UNISAME President Zulfikar Thaver, in a statement, emphasised that the limping SME sector needed support, help, facilities and encouragement to overcome the huge setback caused by the economic crisis. “The sector needs uninterrupted and affordable energy, affordable finance, support for modernisation and upgrading, transfer of technology and marketing support,” he stated.
