New digital system links PIMS with PBM

Poor patients will be able to obtain financial assistance hassle-free

ISLAMABAD:

To provide quick and hassle-free treatment to poor patients, the first-ever digital facilitation centre was inaugurated at the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) on Thursday.

Set up by the Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal (PBM) in coordination with the Ministry of National Health Services, Regulations and Coordination and a private pharmaceutic company.

Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Health Dr Zafar Mirza, who launched the landmark initiative, said that the Beneficiary Management System (BMS) will ensure that poor and deserving patients are provided with the financial assistance they need through the PBM in a highly transparent, dignified and efficient manner.

By ensuring that financial assistance is provided through a digital platform, there will be no delay or interruption in the treatment of patients.

He added that the software is initially linked with Pims and will be extended to other hospitals across the country.

PBM Managing Director Aon Abbas Buppi said digital transformation and e-governance is being introduced within the organisation to accelerate its humanitarian services. Adopting technological will allow PBM to improve its capabilities to respond to the applicants efficiently and transparently.
