The Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Administration Chief Officer Syeda Shafaq Hashmi on Wednesday expressed her concern about the poor maintenance of the Islamabad Zoo (Marghzar) premises and directed that all possible measures must be taken to improve it. She said this during a surprise visit to the facility. Soon after her arrival, the zoo director reached the spot and briefed her on the facility’s management, procedures for feeding animals as well as cleaning of cages. Hashmi asked the zoo’s veterinary officer about the health programme for animals. She was told that deworming and other precautionary measures for animal health care are being taken.
