With the pandemic and ensuing lockdown, Sindh saw many organisations partaking in relief activities, tending to those worst-hit by the crisis.

Multiple new initiatives also made a mark in the rapidly changing landscape. One among them was the Inam Foundation, which, headed by Pakistan Peoples Party leader Sharjeel Inam Memon, has been actively partaking in relief activities in Hyderabad and other districts of Sindh.

Inam, under the banner of the Inam Foundation and in the capacity of the Covid-19 focal person in Hyderabad, took multiple initiatives to curb the spread of the virus in the region. Instructing the district administration to prepare ahead for the crisis, he took measures for installing transformers at Labour Colony quarantine facility, so that Covid-19 patients could get relief. Memon also took steps for shifting Sabzi Mandi in Hyderabad to avoid crowding.

He extended support for establishing a helpline in the district to run an awareness campaign regarding the coronavirus pandemic and launched a separate awareness drive to inform people about pandemic-related standard operating procedures.

In addition, the Inam Foundation has taken measures for providing Covid-19 testing kits and personal protective equipment to public sector facilities, as well as rations to the needy.
