KARACHI: As many as 184 Sindh government jobs were approved based on the deceased quota by Sindh Chief Secretary Syed Mumtaz Ali Shah during a meeting on Friday. This has brought the total number of such appointments in various provincial government departments since 2019 to 3,638.

Shah approved 38 jobs in the local government department, six in the health department, five in the Sindh Revenue Board, 28 in the irrigation department, four in the Sindh Food Authority, 78 in the education department, four in the works and services department, 10 in the agriculture department and four in the public health engineering department.

He also sought details regarding employees whose salaries had not been released and instances where the recruitment process has been delayed.

Following this, various department secretaries informed Shah about delays in the finalisation of the cases by district recruitment committees (DRCs). Shah directed the relevant deputy commissioners to immediately hold DRC meetings and submit a report within 15 days, in order to avoid further delays in appointments.
