Shahid Kapoor marks one year of 'Kabir Singh' with heartfelt note

'Kabir Singh' was one of 2019's biggest and most controversial hits

It's been a year to the release of Shahid Kapoor and Kiara Ali Advani starrer Kabir Singh, and Shahid had a quite a bit to say about the venture that went on to become one of 2019's biggest hits.

Shahid took to Instagram to mark the occasion. "To all those who gave so much overwhelming love to such a complex, conflicted character. Thank you," he wrote.

"Kabir Singh was never just a film to me.. it was an emotional arc that was raw... bare... unabashed... honest... fearless... REAL! In a time where people are quick to judge (others not themselves) you understood him. You understood our interpretation of the angst of a broken heart," he went on.

Directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, Kabir Singh was one of the most popular and criticised films in recent times, however it did resonate with audiences who made it possible for it to rack in over INR 350 crore.
