Turbat university rejects unverified data

Website quoted old data in its ranking of the varsity when it was a sub-campus of Balochistan University

QUETTA: The University of Turbat’s (UoT) spokesperson has categorically rejected the unverified data recently released by an institute or a website regarding the university rankings in Balochistan, according to a statement issued.

They said website has quoted old data in its ranking of the varsity when it was a sub-campus of  Balochistan University.

“The website states 250 students are enrolled in the university and the number of academic departments are three. However, more than 3,000 students were studying in 23 programmes of 13 departments at main campus of the university in Turbat and its two sub-campuses in Gwadar and Panjgur,” said the spokesperson.

Within a few years of its establishment, Turbat University got the distinction in Balochistan of starting BS  and Masters programmes in various academic disciplines.
