Covid-19 claims over 80 lives in Punjab

Punjab Health Department conducted more than 407,000 tests for Covid-19 so far

LAHORE: The Covid-19 pandemic in Punjab has taken away more than 80 more lives in the province, while the number of coronavirus cases in the province exceeded 64,000 after registration of more than 2,500 new cases in the last 24 hours.

According to the spokesperson of the Punjab Primary and Secondary Healthcare Department on Saturday noon, the total number of deaths had crossed 1,340 in the province. The health department confirmed that 1,166 new cases of Covid-19 were registered in Lahore, five new cases in Nankana Sahib, five in Kasur, 11 in Sheikhupura, 577 in Rawalpindi, 15 in Jhelum, five in Attock, 106 in Gujranwala, 57 in Sialkot, nine in Narowal, 36 in Gujrat, seven in Mandi Bahauddin, 180 in Multan, 27 in Muzaffargarh, nine in Vehari, 137 in Faisalabad, eight in Toba Tek Singh,  30 in Rahim Yar Khan, 35 in Sargodha, four in Mianwali, seven in Bahawalnagar, 38  in Bahawalpur and three cases in Okara district during the last 24 hours.

Punjab Health Department conducted more than 407,000 tests for Covid-19 so far, while over 17,960 confirmed cases had been recovered all together in the province.
