LAHORE: Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Ahmad Raza Tahir has directed the Lahore Police to step up security to the “red alert” level for Juma prayers tomorrow. He directed all divisional SPs to tighten security around mosques and imambargahs. A statement issued by the CCPO office directed the security branch to ensure proper checking and use of walkthrough gates and metal detectors at Juma congregations and that all vehicles are parked at a safe distance form the mosques. The statement directed the regional officers to make surprise visits at all sensitive spots.
