Multiple Indian publications report that she could not bear the loss of the late Bollywood star

MUMBAI: Bollywood stars joined family members for the funeral Monday of actor Sushant Singh Rajput, whose death, aged 34, has sent shock waves through the Indian film industry and rekindled a national debate about mental health.

Rajput was found dead on Sunday in his Mumbai apartment, with police saying he took his own life. A star of hits on the big and small screen, Rajput died just days after the shock death of his former manager, Disha Salian.

The late actor's sister-in-law passed away after his funeral in Bihar, multiple Indian media reports stated.

According to Times of India, Sudha Devi, wife of Sushant's cousin, passed away at his native, Purnia in Bihar. She died when Rajput's last rites were being conducted in Mumbai.

The report said that she could not bear the loss of the Kai Po Che actor and had stopped eating after the news of his demise broke. Devi died when Rajput's last rites were being conducted in Mumbai.

Many have shared since that he was suffering from depression from the last six months and was undergoing treatment. He was cremated at the Pawan Hans crematorium here in the presence of family members and close friends from the film and TV industry.

He was the youngest in his family with four elder sisters. His death has left the fans and his family members in shock.

The young actor's death has sparked emotional discussion on social media about mental health, with stars including Deepika Padukone and Anushka Sharma posting messages about the importance of seeking help.
