IUB Vice Chancellor (VC) Dr Athar Mahboob said on Monday that students were selected for the scholarship through a transparent process to ensure merit.
He said the list of candidates awarded scholarships is available on the university website. The students were asked to stay in touch with the National Bank of Pakistan for the disbursement of stipend.
He said that 890 students of the university were entitled to the HEC’s Need-Based Scholarship of up to Rs60 million.
He added that scholarships of Rs20 million were given to 200 university students in collaboration with Pakistan Baitul Maal. He added that the university was devising a mechanism for assessment of students under guidelines provided by HEC and Higher Education Department of Punjab.
