120 ventilators available in Balochistan
1,661 cases positive cases were reported last week
QUETTA: Balochistan government spokesperson Liaquat Shahwani on Monday said that around 120 ventilators were available in hospitals throughout the province, warning that novel coronavirus cases were likely to reach 20,000 by the end of July.
“1,661 cases positive cases were reported last week”, Shahwani said while addressing a news conference. “There has been a 70 per cent increase in coronavirus cases.”
He said that the condition of eight patients admitted to the Fatima Jinnah Chest and General and Sheikh Zayed hospitals was serious but they were being provided the best treatment with the available resources.
The spokesperson added that currently 2,500 people in the province were stranded in the Gulf countries. “Efforts are being made to bring back the stranded people soon.”
