Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput was found dead at his Bandra home in Mumbai on Sunday, reported India Today. The actor was 34.

Soon after the news of his death broke, fans and peers alike took to social media and shared condolences. #SushantSinghRajput was trending on Twitter on Sunday as many shared pictures of the actor and remembered him.

However, few disturbing images of the late star were also circulating social media. Maharashtra police's cyber wing issued a stern warning to those sharing distressing images of Rajput on social media platforms.

The Maharashtra Cyber, an agency established by the Maharashtra government for the investigation of cybercrime and maintenance of cybersecurity tweeted, “A disturbing trend has been observed on Social Media platforms by Maharashtra Cyber that pictures of deceased actor Shri. Sushant Singh Rajput are being circulated, which are disturbing and in bad taste."

“It is emphasised that circulation of such pictures is against legal guidelines and court directions, and are liable to invite legal action,” another tweet read.

A final tweet added that the pictures doing the rounds online must be deleted, “Maharashtra Cyber exhorts and directs all netizens to refrain from circulating the aforesaid pictures. The pictures already circulated should be deleted henceforth.”

Last Rights

“The last rites will be performed after his father and other family members arrive in Mumbai from Patna tomorrow,” the actor’s spokesperson told PTI on Sunday.

Gone Too Soon

A rising star, Sushant had made a name for himself on the small screen with Pavitra Rishta, where he played the lead role, before jumping to the big screen.

His film Kai Po Che was based on Chetan Bhagat’s bestselling book The Three Mistakes of My Life. The film catapulted Sushant from being a smalltown boy to becoming a known name overnight.

He was last seen in Chhichhore opposite Shraddha Kapoor. This film was a film directed by Nitesh Tiwari and dealt with struggles of college life and the frustrations of the later years.

Sushant’s last film will be the romantic drama Dil Bechara, which marks casting director Mukesh Chhabra’s directorial debut. The unreleased film is an official adaptation of John Green’s bestselling novel The Fault In Our Stars.
