In a statement, the committee said that the delay in rescue work was "evidence of Sindh government's incompetence," demanding of the provincial government to inform the public of what the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) had been doing all the while.
"Where are the funds allocated for the PDMA spent?" the statement reads. It observed that while sufficient finds were allocate for the PDMA, so far, only law enforcement personnel were seen participating in the rescue operation.
The committee called for ending illegal constructions, making the PDMA functional and providing compensation to family affected by the recent building collapse.
