RAWALPINDI: A teenage boy, who was allegedly beaten for resisting sexual abuse, succumbed to his injuries on Sunday.

The 16-year-old victim, Ahsan Ali, was under treatment at the District Headquarters (DHQ) hospital where he lost the battle to life.

Kotli Sattiyan police said that they will now include sections relating to murder in the first information report (FIR) which they have already registered.

They added that Ali had been brutally assaulted, allegedly by Mansoor and his accomplices, after he allegedly refused to indulge in sexual activities with them. When the suspects tried to force themselves upon him, he resisted and was subsequently beaten up. The teenager was rushed to the DHQ hospital in a critical condition. However, he succumbed to his wounds on Sunday.

The victim’s father, Muhammad Mufiaz, told The Express Tribune that he was a day labourer and that they live in the Dhok Naliyan area. He added that Mansoor called his son at around 3pm on June 3 and asked him to visit him. When Ali did not return home for long they tried contacting Ali on his cellphone but it went unattended. Later, Mufaiz got a call from a man named Rustam who informed him that his son was lying injured in Mori Bazaar.

Muhafiz believes that the suspects tried to drug his son forcibly. When he refused, he was violently beaten.

Police officials say they have handed over the victim’s body to his family after completing a post-mortem at the tehsil headquarters (THQ) hospital and fulfilling all other legal formalities.

They added that an attempt to murder case was already registered against the suspects and a section related to murder will also be inserted in it.
