‘Some people want IMC to fail’

IMC is working to beautify the city and in maintaining cleanliness

ISLAMABAD: The mayor on Thursday took a fresh jibe at his opponents, stating that certain elements did not want the elected Islamabad Metropolitan Corporation (IMC) to perform for their ulterior political motives.

This was stated by Islamabad Mayor Sheikh Anser Aziz on Thursday while visiting the Gomal Road Park in Sector E-7.

In arguably his first public appearance after Eidul Fitr and since the Islamabad High Court (IHC) restored him following his suspension from the government, Aziz said that the federal capital is not only one of the most beautiful cities of Pakistan, but the entire world.

He added that the IMC is working to beautify the city and in maintaining cleanliness.

“The beautiful parks in the capital territory are a testimony to IMC’s hard work,” the mayor claimed, as he directed Environment Directorate officials to put all their efforts in maintaining the Gomal Park.
