MANCHESTER: Former Manchester United star Paul Scholes believes potential signing and possible successor Wesley Sneijder is a ‘brilliant’ player. The playmaker’s retirement at the end of last season has left a huge gap in Sir Alex Ferguson’s midfield, who is reportedly keen on signing the midfielder. Scholes, who is now part of United’s coaching staff, hailed Sneijder’s performances for club and country over the years. “Yes, Sneijder’s brilliant,” said Scholes. “He’s been brilliant for the last year or so with Inter Milan and Holland.”
