Men quarrel over petty issue during Iftar

A man was gunned down while two others sustained serious injuries in an incident of firing after an Iftar dinner in Esa Khel area on Tuesday.
Police said that Raees Rehmatullah Khel, a resident of Nomakoh Deet area, had arranged an Iftar dinner where two men named Chand Mandokhel and Sultan Mandokhel quarreled over some petty issue.
In a fit of rage, the accused Chand had opened fire. As a result of the incident, Sultan was killed on the spot while two others sustained bullet injuries.
The body of the victim was handed over to the heirs after autopsy. Police registered a case against the accused. Further probe was underway.
Meanwhile, two people died in a road accident in Piplan police limits on Tuesday. Police officials said that Muhammad Junaid, 21, a resident of Sarmend village, Piplan tehsil, along with his cousin Hashir, 29, was traveling on a motorcycle rickshaw when a recklessly driven car hit the motorcycle rickshaw.
The motorcycle rickshaw overturned and fell into a roadside canal and both Junaid and Hashir were killed on the spot.
The accused car driver managed to escape from the crime scene. Police handed over the bodies to the heirs after completing necessary legal formalities and registered a case against the unknown accused and started investigation.
