Director’s Transfer: Order suspended, reply sought from NAB chief

LAHORE:

The Lahore High Court on Monday suspended the transfer order for a National Accountability Bureau (NAB) director and sought reply from its Punjab director general.

The petitioner, Irshadul Haq, a NAB director, said that he was appointed in as deputy director in 2000 and was promoted as the additional director in 2003.

The petitioner said that the NAB human resource director on July 13, 2011, issued his transfer order and directed him to report at the Peshawar office.

Objecting to the impugned transfer order, the counsel said that according to the NAB appointment terms and regulations the authorities had to seek the employee’s consent prior to issuing transfer order before completion of five years of current posting. He said that the impugned order had been issued as a result of favouritism and was based on mala fide intentions.

After hearing the arguments the judge suspended the impugned order and issued a notice to the NAB Punjab director general.
