China, Pakistan to strengthen defense ties

China and Pakistan pledged to strengthen their defense ties in a meeting on Friday.

BEIJING: China and Pakistan pledged to strengthen their defense ties in a meeting between Chinese Defense Minister Liang Guanglie and Army Chief General Ashfaq Pervaiz Kayani on Friday.

Meeting at the Diaoyutai Guest House in Beijing, Kayani said that Pakistan values defence cooperation with China, stating that the two countries have cooperated successfully in recent years.

The Chinese defense minister said cooperation between the Chinese and Pakistani armed forces is exemplary, and that the two sides should continue to strengthen cooperation.

Kayani is on a five day official visit to China on the invitation of the People's Liberation Army.
