The chief minister expressed these views while inaugurating the cleanliness and municipal services improvement programme of the local government department on Tuesday.
A ceremony was held at the Race Course Park in which 24 mini tippers were handed over to the deputy commissioner (DC) of Sialkot while 12 mini tippers were given to DC Sahiwal for improving municipal services in their areas.
The chief minister also inspected the modern sewerage safety van and announced to provide funds to every city to get these vans to protect the lives of sewermen who risk their lives at work.
Buzdar said that the cities cleanliness operation would be improved under the Punjab Intermediate Cities Improvement Investment Programme.
“Steps have been taken to develop the standard of municipal services and provision of latest machinery to improve the waste management system in Sahiwal and Sialkot,” he emphasised.
He said 942 vehicles, machinery and a sum of Rs293 million would be provided to Sahiwal as well.
