NAB investigates missing wheat

Food officials of the two districts and Karachi, as well as the company, are under investigation

HYDERABABD: The National Accountability Bureau in Sukkur is investigating the disappearance of 98,000 wheat bags, which were destined for Karachi and Sanghar but never reached their destination. According to official sources, 74,000 wheat bags were released for Karachi alone from the provincial government's warehouse in Naushero Feroze district between the end of 2019 and early 2020. The remaining were sent to Sanghar during the same period. The wheat was transported through a private company based in Karachi. Food officials of the two districts and Karachi, as well as the company, are under investigation.
