The petitioner’s counsel claimed that the AC threatened to destroy a factory in a speech addressed to the factory workers.
The court remarked that no action would be taken against factory owners that was contrary to the authority given by the Sindh government.
Meanwhile, the Sindh additional advocate general maintained that the provincial government had given labour directors the authority to take action against factories that were firing their workers or refusing to pay their salaries during the ongoing coronavirus crisis and the ensuing lockdown, while the AC had visited the factory in order to try to disperse the gathered workers.
