IBCC gets another ad-hoc head

New secretary will run daily affairs of committee

ISLAMABAD: The Ministry for Federal Education and Professional Training has appointed its Joint Secretary Muhammad Akhtar as the acting secretary of the Inter-Board Committee of Chairmen (IBCC) on Tuesday.

The ministry officials said that they would soon publish an advertisement for permanent recruitment on the post, adding that Akhtar would handle the affairs until then. They said that the hiring process would be completed within two months.

According to the notification issued by Section Officer Muhammad Kamran, Joint Secretary Akhtar has been posted as the acting IBCC secretary for two months. It stated that the acting official would perform the daily tasks of the board.

Sources said IBCC secretary has many responsibilities like grant of equivalence certificate to foreign qualification with corresponding Pakistani certificates at Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSSC). IBCC secretary also attests certificates and diplomas, issued by Boards of Intermediate and Secondary Education and Boards of Technical Education in Pakistan.
