‘Traders’ issues to be resolved on priority’

IGP Abbasi says police would perform duties as per SOPs

PESHAWAR: Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) Inspector General of Police Sanaullah Abbasi on Saturday said problems being faced by traders of the provincial capital would be addressed on priority basis.

He said that police with active support of the traders’ community would perform its duty as per SOP of the government. The IGP said this during a meeting with a delegation of Peshawar’s trader community.

A press statement issued in this regard said that Peshawar city traders’ delegation led by Sharafat Ali informed the IGP of the problems being faced by traders during the lockdown imposed to stem the coronavirus in the province.

The statement said that the traders have always sacrificed for the nation in every difficult situation. Traders were extending full support to the administration and the police for implementation of instructions for containment of the Covid-19.

The members of the delegation, the statement read that also presented suggestions for relaxing the lockdown to facilitate businesses.

IGP Abbasi said that traders were playing a pivotal role in economic development of a country and assured that every effort would be made for providing them peaceful and congenial atmosphere for business.
