RAHIM YAR KHAN:
Several family members of a young girl abducted her after she married against their wishes. According to protesters, a large demonstration was held outside the district police office (DPO) to condemn the incident on Saturday. Protesters said that Chowk Chudrah resident Azhar Hussain wed Rizwana last year. “After the marriage, Rizwana’s family seized hold of his land and house and turned them out,” said protester Ramzan. Locals said that on Friday night, eight people broke into the house where Azhar was staying and abducted Rizwana. “They even beat Azhar but police are not registering a case,” Ramzan said.
The protesters said their demonstration would continue until police registered the case.
