In order to use the new upper limit, everyone on the call will need to be running the latest version of the app.
The process is simple. Start a group video call and directly add people from group chat. As before, these calls are secured with end-to-end encryption so no one else can view or listen to your private conversation, not even WhatsApp.

Google Duo has a 12 person limit while Apple’s FaceTime supports 32, Houseparty supports eight, Skype, and Facebook’s new Messenger Rooms service support 50, and Zoom’s free tier supports 100.

At present, the new upper limit is available only on iOS, as it doesn’t appear to be available on the Google Play Store but is expected to arrive this week. However, if you are eager to grab the update then you can download it directly from WhatsApp’s website.
