Laywers Protest: ‘Court proceedings to be boycotted’

KARACHI: The lawyers are considering to going on an indefinite strike from today (Saturday), said Karachi Bar Association (KBA) honorary secretary on Friday. This is being done because two lawyers, Sindh Bar Council former member Faheem Riaz Siddiqui and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) lawyers’ forum member Saleem Bhatti, were gunned down on Friday near Saddar police station. The secretary condemned the incident and claimed that under the circumstances the lawyers fraternity was being forced to consider all options. He announced that all court proceedings would be boycotted on Saturday. The secretary added that an emergency KBA meeting would be held in the afternoon where they would discuss the violence targeting lawyers.
