A One Direction reunion is closer than we expected

All the signs point towards it, trust us!

Entertainment Desk April 14, 2020

If you've been a One Direction fan, you're in for the best news ever!

The band who has been on a hiatus since 2016, and one member short since 2015 following the departure of Zayn Malik (which sent many tears rolling), is inching towards the 10-year mark since its formation on British reality show The X Factor.

With that, the band's social media pages' activities seem to have picked pace too, reported E! News. Eagle-eyed fans have been noticing changes that point towards a possible reunion on the cards for the band, and yes, Zayn Malik included!

Before we dive into all the social media shenanigans their team is onto, here's something in Liam Payne's own words - "We've got a 10-year anniversary coming up so we've all been speaking together a lot over the last few weeks which has been really nice. There's a number of different things that we are all working on to try and make happen and people are forwarding emails around."

Lest we sound like we're getting too ahead of ourselves, Directioners on Twitter have noticed that the remaining quartet including Liam, Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson and Niall Horan, have started following Malik on Twitter. While the Pillowtalk singer hasn't returned the favour back yet, he may just be a tad-bit late on the memo - he's known to have lost his social media passwords more than once.

Not just that, but Malik isn't listed as an ex-member of 1D on Google anymore! Yes, he's back on the list of band-members as a vocalist.

If even that doesn't satisfy your rumour mill enough to believe the buzz, here's some more - all five of the band's albums (including the one's with Zayn) are now available on Apple Music, and their profile  features a picture of Styles, Payne, Tomlinson, Horan and Malik together.

One more indication that something is coming - if not a complete reunion - is that their website, which was taken down when they announced their hiatus in 2016, is functional again!

Interestingly - though not as concretely as Liam - Niall, Harry and Louis have also alluded to a reunion with their band-mates over the last month. Appearing on The Late Late Show with James Corden, Horan was made to take a lie detector test and was asked if 1D would ever get back together again. He replied, "Yes," and the test confirmed it's true.

On the other hand, Tomlinson, while talking on The One Show said, "I think it'll (1D getting back together) happen at some point, we'd be stupid not to." That's not all, Styles, when asked if he would be up for a virtual reunion over Zoom told SiriusXM, "I don't know if that's the reunion we had in mind. I don't know if that would be the way to do it."

There you have it guys! It may just be happening this time. Fingers crossed!
