LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) Member of Provincial Assembly (MPA) Abdul Aleem Khan has once again taken oath as a member of the Punjab cabinet.

Punjab Governor Chaudhry Mohammad Sarwar administered the oath at a ceremony held in the Darbar Hall of Governor House on Monday.

CM Sardar Usman Buzdar, Chief Secretary Azam Suleman Khan, provincial ministers and other senior officials were present on the occasion. The governor and chief minister congratulated Khan upon rejoining the cabinet. Khan had earlier stepped down as local government minister after being detained by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) during an investigation into allegations of corruption and accumulating assets beyond known sources of income within the country and abroad.

The MPA remained in custody of the anti-corruption watchdog from February 7 to March 5 last year and was later sent to jail on judicial remand. He remained incarcerated for 73 days and was finally granted bail by the LHC on May 17.
