McDonald’s Pakistan wins hearts of the nation with its unprecedented initiative

Mcdonalds Pakistan gives healthcare heroes free breakfast to show them some much needed gratitude and appreciation

Not all heroes wear capes; this ongoing and noxious coronavirus pandemic has made the world realise that the real heroes are those who wear scrubs. The healthcare professionals such as doctors and nurses, as well as police and the security staff remain in the line of fire each day as they leave their homes and loved ones to fight fiercely with COVID-19.

Our front-liners are doing whatever it is in their hands to heal the ailing as well as to shield us from the harm that follows from contracting this contagious disease. These brave people continue working in increasingly dangerous conditions—with masks and other protective gear in limited supply. During these unprecedented times, we as a nation, need to applaud our healthcare heroes for their dedication and perseverance.



Popular fast-food giant McDonald’s recently announced that, along with other myriad community benefitting activities that they do, they would also be serving all healthcare workers a free breakfast as a token of their support and appreciation for their unwavering spirit and commitment to keep Pakistanis safe and healthy. More than 5000 meals have been served in a week’s time.



Healthcare workers across Pakistan can redeem their free breakfast on McDonald’s App by showing work ID at any of McDonalds restaurants Drive Thru or Take away. The offer is valid during breakfast hours (6 AM - 11 AM on weekdays and till 12 PM on weekends). It is truly heartwarming and commendable to see how McDonald's Pakistan is stepping up to show their appreciation to these people.



Abdul Basit, who is part of the medical-super-hero fleet was overwhelmed by this heart tugging gesture and shared his gratitude on social media:



To continue cheering these valiant soldiers, this week, the brand distributed meals to the front-liners at the Indus Hospital for all their selfless services. It is greatly inspiring to watch such tremendous efforts being put in by McDonalds Pakistan to encourage and uplift our heroes, as well as the sheroes, who are working indefatigably to save us from the virus outbreak. McDonald's Pakistan is determined to give a positive message to these health workers that they are not alone, and that their sacrifices are extremely valued and honoured.
