483 arrested, weapons seized

More than 11kgs of heroin, 15 grams of ice, more than seven kgs of opium and 4,699 bottles of liquor were also seized

LAHORE: As many as 483 suspected criminals were arrested while weapons and illicit substances were seized by Lahore police over the last month.

Police officials said an amount of more than Rs15.6 million was recovered, from the accused, which was handed over to the real owners.

During the operation against criminals, police arrested the criminals and seized 20 rifles, three Kalashnikovs, 15 guns, five daggers, 427 revolvers and pistols as well as bullets from their possession.

More than 11kgs of heroin, 15 grammes of ice, more than seven kgs of opium and 4,699 bottles of liquor were also seized from the accused.

Lahore DIG Operations Rai Babar Saeed said that all the divisional SPs were given special task to arrest criminals involved in heinous crimes.
