Police have registered separate cases against them under Gambling Act

RAWALPINDI: In a crackdown against anti-social elements, police have rounded up 24 alleged gamblers and recovered betting money amounting to Rs101,000, at least 29 mobile phones and other valuable items from them.

A police spokesman informed that R A bazaar Police while acting on a tip-off from an informer conducted a raid and apprehended 24 people allegedly busy in gambling.

Police have registered separate cases against them under Gambling Act and have begun investigation. City Police Officer (CPO) Muhammad Ahsan Younas appreciated the performance of the police and said strict action must be taken against anti-social elements who were violating the law.
