LAHORE:

Lahore police arrested an impersonator pretending to be a traffic warden and recovered a weapon from his possession in the Ichra police precincts on Wednesday.

Sabir was travelling on board a bus when he was given a ticket near the Ichra underpass.

Sabir told the police to not challan the driver on his surety as he was also a warden of the Faisalabad traffic police.

The accused, who was also wearing the traffic police cap, failed to provide his official identity card to prove that he was a warden.

The traffic wardens were suspicious of his behaviour and started questioning him. Later he admitted that he was not a cop.

A pistol and six bullets were recovered from the accused and a case was registered against him.
