Unidentified men stormed a grocery store in the main market of the suburban Panwal area of Pinddadankhan on Tuesday following a conflict on stocks of flour.

The attack left the owner of the store and three others critically injured. Local police said that owing to a shortage of flour in the area, the owner of the Minhaj Kiryana (grocery store) had bought flour through a private contractor and started packing smaller bags with flour.

When a customer asked for more bags of flour, it irked the owner of the store and an argument ensued. It soon descended into fisticuffs. However, the customer went home. After a couple of hours, around 20 unidentified men arrived riding on motorbikes.

Armed with sticks, they barged into the store and beat up the store’s owner and three workers. Police rushed to the spot and controlled the situation.
