500 arrested, 399 cases registered in 15 days

They were arrested over the violation of Section 144 amid lockdown

FAISALABAD: The district police and administration arrested more than 500 people and registered 399 cases in different police stations across the city over the violation of Section 144 amid lockdown during the past 15 days.

Out of the total 131 cases were registered by the district administration while the police lodged 268 cases.

The data obtained by The Express Tribune revealed that these cases were registered by the police from March 15 to 31 on over lockdown violations in Faisalabad. Lyallpur Town Police registered 63 cases of which 50 were registered by the district administration and 13 by the police. Madina Town police registered 77 cases out of which 17 were registered by the district administration and the rest by the police.

During the same period, Iqbal Town Division police registered the highest number of cases, 92, of which 36 cases were lodged by the district administration.
