Judge orders IG to take disciplinary action against the officer.

LAHORE:

The Lahore High Court on Wednesday took serious notice of registration of a false fraud FIR.

The petitioner claimed that he was illiterate vendor and had a photo bank account. He said that an acquaintance had stolen his cheque book and tried to draw money from his account. He said that rather than arresting that man, the police had charged him with issuing a bogus cheque.

The judge remarked that the investigation officer should have verified the man’s claim that he was incapable of writing his name. He ordered the IG to take disciplinary action against the officer.
