Prime Minister Imran Khan on Saturday sent his best wishes to his British counterpart Boris Johnson and Prince Charles after they both tested positive for COVID-19.

"I wish his royal highness Prince Charles and Prime Minister Boris Johnson a speedy recovery, good health and long life," the country premier posted on Twitter.

He went on to say that the "deadly virus has hit people beyond boundaries" and "an internationally coordinated response was needed to counter it".

PM Imran ended his message using the hashtag TogetherWeCan.

It was revealed on Friday that Johnson, 55, had tested positive for coronavirus as he displayed mild symptoms forcing him to self-isolate for seven days.

Only a day earlier it was confirmed that the 71-year-old prince of Wales was also positive for the deadly virus that has sparked a global pandemic.

Meanwhile, Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi spoke to his UK counterpart Dominic Raab where they resolved to work together for ensuring that travellers from both countries "get home safely".

Raab spoke out on Twitter, where he said the pair discussed the global response to the deadly virus.

The entire world has come to a standstill from the coronavirus outbreak with governments been forced to lock down the world over.

So far over 600,000 people have tested positive for COVD-19 with over 25,000 fatalities reported.
