Nine Pakistani students to experience Japan

ISLAMABAD: The Embassy of Japan decided to send nine high school students and an accompanying teacher from Pakistan to visit Japan. The ten member delegation will be sent under Japan and South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation’s ‘High School Students Invitation Program,’ which is to be held from June 23 to July 2.

These students have been selected by the Embassy of Japan in collaboration with the Federal Directorate of Education, Islamabad.

This invitation program will provide an opportunity to high school students of SAARC countries to learn about Japan’s state-of-the-art technologies and efforts made by the country in the field of environment. A total of 72 students and eight teachers from SAARC countries will participate in the program.

These students along with the host country will also participate in a forum on the theme of environment. They will visit various sites in Tokyo, Hiroshima and Kyoto that would help them understand the history, society, and culture of Japan.

The participants will also have an opportunity to visit a high school in Japan and stay with host families to experience Japanese lifestyle. Chihiro Atsumi, ambassador of Japan to Pakistan, handed over travel documents to the nine selected students and their accompanying teacher in a ceremony held at the Embassy of Japan on Wednesday.

Ambassador Atsumi congratulated them on the occasion and wished them a safe journey.
