KARACHI:

Pakistan Peoples Party MPA Mir Muhammad Hassan Khan Talpur alias Babu Talpur moved a privilege motion in the Sindh Assembly against the senior vice-president of his party, Dr Zulfiqar Mirza.

In his motion Talpur said that Mirza used derogatory language against him during the death anniversary of Ismail Odhejo, a former PPP leader, on July 24 in Matli. Talpur also belongs to the Matli taluka of Badin district.

During his speech at a public gathering, Mirza claimed that some elected representatives were not working for the people. He used harsh words against them and said that the party would bring in new candidates in the upcoming election who would address public grievances.

“I have filed a privilege motion under Rule 58 of the procedure of assembly because Mirza has used abusive language against me,” Talpur told The Express Tribune.

He said that he would take up the issue during the upcoming session of the Sindh Assembly.
