The Lahore High Court (LHC) has directed the National Highways Authority (NHA) chief engineer (North) to settle the matter of providing exits for a hotel on Sheikhupura Road on a petition by a hotel owner.
The LHC ordered the chief engineer to listen to both parties and file his report within six weeks.
Petitioner Javed Akbar and others submitted that they are the owners of 98 kanals on the Lahore-Sheikhupura Road and have built a hotel on this land.
They said with the permission of the Punjab government they were given exits on the road.
He said that the secretary of National Highways Punjab had now directed that pillars be placed on the exits to bar their customers.
He said many other hotels and factories were still allowed exits and that the NHA was discriminating against their hotel.
They prayed the court to issue directions for the secretary to open their entry and exit points.
