Virus can be contained through preventive measures, says Balochistan CM

Pilgrims are kept at the center for 14 days where necessary tests are carried out, says Jam Kamal Khan

QUETTA: Balochistan Chief Minister Jam Kamal Khan said the spread of coronavirus could be prevented through precautionary measures.

“If public adopts precautions, the virus can be controlled,” he said while talking to a delegation of Majlis-e-Wahdatul Muslimeen led by former provincial minister Syed Agha Raza, who called on him at the Chief Secretariat.

Provincial minister for Finance Mir Zahoor Ahmed Buledi and Home Minister Mir Ziaullah Langove were also present on the occasion.

The chief minister said the provincial government was utilizing all resources to contain coronavirus and protect the pilgrims returning from Iran in order to ensure health of people.

Briefing the delegation on the quarantine procedure, Kamal said, “Pilgrims are kept at the center for 14 days where necessary tests are carried out to ensure they are not affected by the deadly virus.” He maintained that the precautionary measures were aimed to curb the spread of coronavirus.

The chief minister also addressed anxiety of the pilgrims considering it a natural issue. Besides, he assured the delegation about the protective measures taken by the government were in the best interest of the health of pilgrims and a large number of people across the country.

He urged the delegation to play role in order to spread awareness in the community about precautionary measures to contain coronavirus. (with additional input from APP)
