HUNZA: Gilgit-Baltistan (G-B) Education Department Director Planning Muhammad Abudeen on Monday said that the department was working with complete dedication to improve the standard of education in the country. For this purpose, a vocational and training centre in each district of Gilgit-Baltistan had been established, along with a number of different educational projects, he added. The vocational centres are currently offering six different types of courses, that include electric wiring, house keeping, food processing, wood work, gemstone cutting and polishing among others. He also said, that classes for the courses have already started and each participant will be given a stipend of Rs2000 per month. The director further stated that long vocational courses were also being planned by the department for young people to tap undiscovered potential and enable them to earn their own living, for the prosperity of their area.
